Since then, I have worked within several service areas across Cardiff and Vale, Mental Health Services for Older people in both acute hospital and community settings.I have provided dementia training and education for the past 6 years and in 2019 I was appointed as the Dementia Learning and Development Team Lead.I am passionate in sharing a person centred, strength based approach in dementia care and through this I have become a Positive Approach to Care (PAC) independently certified trainer, coach and consultant.I am currently completing my PGCE in Health Education and hope to go on to further my education specifically in advanced dementia care and support.I am a Dementia friends and John's Campaign ambassadorMy areas of interest are:Co-production / partnership workingProject managementPositive cultures of careRead Bio

Hello! I'm Lawrence and I joined the Dementia Learning and Development Team in July 2022. I worked as a community-based Speech and Language Therapist within Cardiff and Vale Health Board since moving to Wales in 2016. This role was very Dementia focussed and its where I developed my interest in helping people live well with Dementia and in supporting the education of the people that help them.
My particular areas of interest are:
Use of language about Dementia in clinical and non clinical settings.
Experiential learning
Digital transformation in care.

Hi I’m Tim,
I work as a clinical nurse specialist for Dementia working across Mental Health Services for Older People in hospitals and the community. I trained as a Mental Health nurse after moving to Wales in 2007. I have worked in varied areas including many years specialising in the care of Younger people with Dementia in the specialist team based in Cardiff and Vale UHB.
My particular area of interest is person centred care and developing care that is centred around the individual.
I have specialised in Mental capacity act and capacity assessment.
I work as a Dementia care mapper and PAC trainer alongside my current role.
