Here's a starter for ten:

At its heart, co-production is about building relationships and developing trust so that an open, honest and transparent environment can be established. This encourages people to value difference and work together to think of new and innovate ways of working that benefit all. It works by re-balancing power structures to create a level playing field for minds to meet, discuss and share experiences. This can help to overcome issues, problems or barriers that may exist.

Thanks for your fantastic contributions during the RPB Development session on coproduction.

After thinking about where we are now we discussed where we would like to get to. Jen summed up the discussion with a series of Ps:

    • People
    • Problem
    • Priorities
    • Power
    • Partnership
    • (And might I add Planned).

    Group thoughts included:

    • We should coproduce when required, efficiently and in a timely manner
    • There should be a culture of power sharing, listening and curiosity
    • Decision making should be inclusive - people who are impacted matter - how do we hear the 'quieter voices'?
    • Effective coproduction originates from the population
    • We need to prioritise opportunities for people - stakeholders service users & citizens
    • We need to develop plans and solutions collaboratively with partners
    • Citizens identify problems, design the solutions and coproduce the services they use
    • Delegated power, application across the RPB (not piecemeal), RPB as experts,
    • A multi partner approach to thinking (planning), service design, delivery and evaluation
    • Data driven!
    • "Nothing about us without us"
    • Be ok with being uncomfortable

I think there's some common themes here around it needing to be a genuine commitment throughout the entirety of a project/programme that values power sharing and collaboration. What do you think?
